F-Secure Anti-Virus receives Virus Bulletin 100% award again

F-Secure Corporation today announced that F-Secure Anti-Virus 5.43 has been awarded the prestigious VB 100% award in the February 2005 edition of the Virus Bulletin. In the first place there were technical testing problems at Virus Bulletin, which were corrected as a result of co-operation between Virus Bulletin and F-Secure and after that F-Secure Anti-Virus detected all the viruses used in the test. VB tests the market leading antivirus products' detection rate running on different operating systems typically four times in a year. The February 2005 testing was completed on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system.

Virus Bulletin tested 28 different anti-virus products for their detection rates and performance against in-the-wild viruses. Once again F-Secure Anti-Virus was able to detect all the viruses used in the test set and outperformed several other antivirus products. F-Secure Anti-Virus products have long and proven track record of receiving VB100% awards on different platforms.

The VB100% logo is awarded to antivirus products that has the best detection rate of in-the-wild viruses, as tracked by the WildList Organization. In-the-wild list includes only viruses that are currently spreading among computer users. Since most of the viruses are only seen in antivirus labs, detection rate against in-the-wild viruses differentiates most reliable antivirus products from the rest.
