A vulnerability in Microsoft Word, which was caused by incorrect handling of shape data when parsing a file, could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on a system if successfully exploited.
Microsoft has issued a security update to address a vulnerability in Microsoft Word, caused by incorrect handling of shape data when parsing a file. If successfully exploited, the vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute code and take control of an affected system.
This issue has been resolved through the latest update by correcting the way Microsoft Word parses Office files. Users are recommended to install the update to their system as a protection measure against possible exploit attempts.
