| Q: |
What are the Virus Definition Database Files?
|
| A: |
F-Secure Anti-Virus uses special databases - Virus Definition Databases - to detect
viruses. Whenever a new virus is found, the databases need to be updated for F-Secure
Anti-Virus to be able to detect it.
|
| Q: |
How often the Virus Definition Databases should be updated?
|
| A: |
Every day several new viruses are found. To make sure you have the best possible protection
against all kind of viruses, Virus Signature Databases should be updated automatically
using F-Secure Backweb. If you would like to update the databases manually, it should be
done at least once a week.

| Q: |
I am using F-Secure Anti-Virus 5. After installing F-Secure Backweb
the Update now button is disabled.
|
| A: |
This is a feature. Because Backweb downloads the updates automatically, there is no need
to use Update now anymore.

b) What is a "filename.pdf" file? What can I do with it?
|
| A: |
a) A "filename.zip" file is a compressed file usually consisting of a group of files
related with the same program. These files are compressed in size and put into one package
in order to facilitate easy transmission over the internet. The shareware utility to
pack and unpack zip files is available for download at
http://www.pkware.com.
b) A "filename.pdf" file is a presentation file that can be read with the Adobe Acrobat
reader. The extension letters ".pdf" stand for "portable document format", which means
